Long-term Durability

All of our tables are finished with a commercial-grade conversion varnish, chosen for exceptional durability and resistance to common household spills.

This finish is very durable—designed to withstand daily use while resisting scratches, moisture, and wear—without compromising the natural beauty of the solid hardwood.

Commercial-grade protection

We use a professional, commercial-grade wood finish chosen used on high-end furniture. After the stain is hand-rubbed for even color, the piece is sealed, hand-sanded, and top-coated with a catalyzed varnish.

More durable than standard finishes

  • Harder surface: Conversion varnish forms a tough coating that is significantly harder than oils, waxes, or standard lacquers.
  • Excellent scratch and wear resistance: Holds up well to everyday use, including sliding objects, dishes, and light impacts.
  • Resists spills and moisture: The varnish and sealer help protect the wood from water rings, spills, and humidity changes.
  • Beauty and protection: The sealed layers reduce the risk of warping or cracking while still allowing the natural wood grain to show through.

Although prompt cleanup is always recommended, this finish is much more resilient than standard options.

Beautiful and smooth

Unlike thick plastic-feeling finishes, conversion varnish is applied in controlled, hand-finished stages. The wood is stained, sealed, hand-sanded, and then top-coated, resulting in an ultra-smooth finish that highlights the character of the solid hardwood rather than hiding it.

Our finishing process is chosen for furniture meant to be used daily, not just admired — combining long-term durability with a refined, natural look.
